Our Cause

The contemporary cannabis industry embodies a seismic transformation in commerce, social norms, and public attitudes. This burgeoning sector catalyzes innovation with far-reaching benefits across healthcare, industrial applications, environmental sustainability, and economic revitalization. However, the legacy of a bygone era persists – individuals remain incarcerated for non-violent cannabis offenses, a stark reminder of past injustices. Rectifying this ongoing travesty is a moral imperative and a crucial step toward a more equitable future.

Our Motivation

ReLeaf Foundation champions the release of 420 POWs, the non-violent cannabis offenders who remain incarcerated due to outdated drug laws. Through benefit concerts and events, we strive to amplify awareness and generate critical financial support. This support empowers individuals and families directly impacted by these unjust convictions. Our core mission is to illuminate the inherent inhumanity within the War on Drugs. We envision a future where all individuals detained for non-violent cannabis offenses are reunited with their loved ones and have their freedoms rightfully restored. We invite you to join us in creating a lasting impact and advocating for the end of unjust incarcerations related to cannabis.

Who are the 420 POWs?

420 POWs are men and women currently incarcerated for non-violent cannabis-related offenses and those whose lives remain significantly impacted by the failed War on Drugs. This term highlights the dissonance between their actions and the continued criminalization of cannabis in many jurisdictions. Importantly, 420 POWs are more than just a label. They are individuals – mothers, fathers, children, siblings, and friends – who are separated from their loved ones and face the consequences of an unjust system. Understanding the human stories behind the statistics is crucial for fostering empathy and advocating for a more just and equitable approach to cannabis legislation and individual cases.

Our Plan

ReLeaf Foundation is dedicated to securing the release of non-violent cannabis offenders through a multi-faceted approach. To achieve this goal, we’re excited to announce a series of fundraising initiatives culminating in a star-studded benefit concert in 2025 at the Oakland Coliseum on 4-20.

The funds raised through these events will be strategically allocated to:
  • Social Awareness Campaigns
  • Legislative Advocacy
  • Legal Support for 420 POWs
  • Family Aid Programs
  • Non-Profit Collaborative Partnerships

Our ultimate objective is to secure the release of all non-violent cannabis offenders and reunite them with their families. We believe this comprehensive plan will empower us to achieve this goal while fostering a more just and equitable legal system.

Local and Regional Events

Throughout the year leading up to the concert, we will be hosting engaging local and regional events. These events will serve as a platform to raise awareness about the cause, connect with communities, and garner initial support.
